A New Kind of Healthcare

Health care is an industry of opportunity.

The problems of health care are well chronicled. It costs too much, outcomes are not commensurate with the investment, it is inefficient, the list goes on and on – it has all been said once too often.

The need is to build, not continue to complain. It has been said – “if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.” The focus of this blog is solutions. Big game changing solutions, small incremental improvements – it doesn’t matter. This is a forum to bring people together with ideas for improvement. I will be posting some ideas I have; I welcome comment and open discussion on them.

I would encourage others to post their ideas as well. Over time, perhaps we can grow a forum where innovators come together with enablers to make positive change happen. Enablers may be investors, established industry players, consumers, governments - basically anyone that has a belief in a better system and is willing to support innovation to get there.

We are fortunate to live in a culture which encourages innovation and a can do attitude. No problem is too complex, no challenge is not worth stepping up to. I am constantly amazed by the innovation and energy that I see in this industry – the passion that people have, the desire to serve other people to improve lives and outcomes.

But just as health care is fragmented, sometimes opportunities for innovation can be lost or missed for a failure to connect the dots, or the parties that could make a change. This blog/forum is all about connecting those dots.
